The secondary cycle aims at developing critical thinking skills, enhancing students own personal judgements and evolving to become responsible citizens. Pupils prepare for their adult life. They learn about themselves, learn their tastes, their abilities, their strengths, and their weaknesses. They benefit from vocational guidance. In conjunction with their families, they will choose their educational and professional futures.
The double registration CNED : 2nde, 1ère, Tle.
Puplis of the last years of secondary school are written-in in the LFIA, as well as, in the Centre National d’Education à Distance (French Distance Learning Centre of the French Education Department). They have a complete timetable with teachers in each subject. The educational team leads the pupils in a very individualised way. The small size allows the school to adapt to the profile of each child : top athlete, pupils following a demanding artistic course, pupils with high potential, pupils losing their self-esteem…
Teachers work in accordance with the programs of the CNED and make sure the pupil’s learning evolves in parallel with the CNED calendar. The CNED decides if the child can continue to the next grade or if they must repeat their grade.
The LFIA welcomes pupils from the French, Belgian or other educational system. The class in which children are admitted depends on the decisions of their former school. A good knowledge of French is desired. Newcomers can follow French as a Second Language in order to help them improve their abilities.
