The Lycée Français International (LFIA) is run in conjunction with the AEFE : Agency for French Education Abroad.
Like the other 500 French schools based in more than 130 countries around the world, LFIA aims at providing a high-quality education based on the French curriculum to French children or children from other countries trusting the French educational system.
In order to promote the diversity of our public, our ambitious policy aims at broadening the children’s cultural and linguistic horizons by offering a bilingual education. LFIA offers an education in French and English as of the second year of kindergarten. As of the first year of primary school to the college, families can choose between an education in French and English or French and Dutch.
As the French schools abroad make it their priority to integrate into the region they are based in, we put a special emphasis on learning Dutch. Extra-curricular activities such as Dutch language classes and Dutch culture are offered to children of all levels.
LFIA, located only 40 kilometres from Brussels, benefits from a good train network with advantageous train fares for pupils. Thus making it possible to welcome children from around the country. You can travel between Antwerp and Brussels Central Station in only 35 minutes.
In secondary school, pupils follow a program respecting the criteria of the French curriculum established by the Ministère de l’Education Nationale. This program enriches their own personal and cultural development (offering such courses as art, music, sport, sciences, drama and career guidance). Furthermore, LFIA prepares its students for their future by offering a special Cambridge English Exam preparatory class.
Online tuition is also available.
